Channing’s birth at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Gauthier Campus in Lake Charles, Louisiana was about as calm and peaceful as you can get while giving birth. His mom never broke a sweat and the day went by so fast! Baby Channing was a bit stubborn and took pretty much all day to decide to make his arrival but mom had a whole crew to keep her company while she waited patiently. He was born with a full head of hair and had the most adorable little face you can imagine. His two big sisters could hardly handle waiting for their turn to hold their new brother and really did not want to share with the rest of the family. Dr. Groves did an amazing job during the delivery as always and of course the sweetest team of nurses at the LCMH Gauthier campus. It just so happens that baby Channing’s birth fell on the very first day of our new home build that has been in the works for about 7 months. At first it was a tad bit stressful to think of not being there for the first day of construction but it ended up being such a great distraction being away and visiting with all of baby Channing’s biggest fans. As always it is such an honor to be asked to be a part of such an incredible miracle. Birth sessions are some of the most difficult for me to do mainly because scheduling is impossible since babies like to choose their own schedule but it is by far the most rewarding aspect of my job and my favorite thing to shoot!
