Birth photography is probably the most rewarding genre of photography that I do. Long days and crazy hours but can you really complain when part of your job is witnessing a miracle? a few highlights from the day:
Paige and Adam are seriously one of the cutest couples on earth. I recently photographed their maternity session(CLICK HERE TO SEE) We started the day early but mom was prepared with treats for the nurses and a hospital survival bag for dad with lots of good snacks and most importantly beef jerkey (which he shared). They exchanged “push presents”. Dad gave the soon to be new mom a pair of earrings just like the ones she wore on their wedding day but lost at their reception. Mom gave dad a sweet handwritten note and an heirloom rosary. When Paige and Adam’s parents arrived for their pre birth visit, they came with BREAKFAST! . Casserole, breakfast sandwiches, and tons of excitement. Food is so my love language so I’m pretty sure this is how I will show up to the birth of my grandchildren. They had a crowd of family waiting for the new baby’s arrival and even a visitor from France via Facetime! You will see me make a quick appearance in this blog post(photo taken by baby Bab’s proud nanny). I had to make sure this new momma’s make up was on point before she gave birth! haha. Paige and Adam decided not to find out the gender of their new baby which has been a big trend in a lot of my recent birthing clients(my least favorite trend because I JUST NEED TO KNOW lol). So when we heard the first cries from baby Bab our first thoughts were “who is that? Sophie Mae or Jack Nelson?”. Well Mr. Jack Nelson came into the world shortly after noon on March 10th, 19.5 inches long, 7 pounds 2 ounces, nothing but perfection. I’m thrilled that they decided to let me be part of this amazing miracle.
